Elona Prroj – Albanian Blood Feud

This week’s guest has a story which is hard to understand.  I learned about Elona Prroj, a young, Albanian woman, from Ron Harris who has met Elona face-to-face and heard her testimony.  I was hoping I, too, might meet Elona someday and ask her to join us on FIRST PERSON.  After a couple of years, it didn’t look likely that we would be able to meet in person, so we arranged a Skype phone call and Elona told me about the death of her husband, Tani, an Albanian pastor.

Tani died at the hand of a gunman who was taking revenge for a murder committed by one of Tani’s relatives– a murder for which Tani was completely innocent.  However, because of the ancient tradition of a “blood feud” in Northern Albania, Tani was targeted and eventually murdered, leaving his wife to raise two children and carry on his ministry.

Elona’s story of trial and faith is one of the most gripping accounts of a couple committed to serving Christ at any cost I’ve ever heard.  After you listen, please share your comments at Facebook.com/FirstPersonInterview.
